Cycling and hiking to our shared heritage
The German-Czech Interreg project "Cycling and Hiking to Shared Heritage" promoted the natural and cultural heritage in the border region and developed new cross-border cycling routes. Connecting routes between the Saxon Central Uplands Route and Czech cycling paths along the traditional timber-framed houses were signposted, and five circular routes were identified. A study examined differences and similarities along the border. Despite a short implementation period of one year, the project was successfully completed and presented to the public with a two-day promotional cycling tour. ENO developed and successfully implemented the project.

Cycling analysis
In 2023, tourism experts at ENO conducted a cycling traffic analysis along the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path in the Görlitz district. This involved surveys at various locations along the route. The results were published in spring 2024. The analysis is intended to support tourism providers in their investment decisions along the cycle path. The goal is to restore the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path to its position among the top 10 cycle routes in Germany.

Tourism concept
The tourism strategy for the Görlitz district is being adapted to new circumstances and the strategies of Saxony and Upper Lusatia. Instead of targeted measures, it focuses on overarching themes such as health, sustainability, and skilled workers. The strategy serves as a guideline for tourism professionals and is being developed in cooperation with dwif-Consulting GmbH and local stakeholders through workshops and a steering committee. The aim is to consider local needs and experiences and to ensure a future-oriented direction for tourism in the district.

Marketing strategies for the Neisse region
Destination marketing for the Neisse region aims to position it as an attractive travel destination. In close cooperation with local businesses and umbrella tourism organizations, the Neisse region is presented at national and international trade fairs. Targeted social media activities communicate tourism developments and promote holidays in the region. These measures are closely coordinated with the strategies of the Görlitz district tourism association, the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Marketing Company, and the Saxony Tourism Marketing Company to ensure coherent marketing.
"Direct contact with tourism professionals is important to us in order to always be informed about the conditions and requirements at the grassroots level. Our work thrives on many discussions, exciting ideas and strong cooperation with our partners."
