Since 2005, the ENO has established itself as an important central point of contact in the areas of project management, education, location marketing, tourism, economic development and real estate. We advise, support and promote actors who work in the district of Görlitz and its municipalities. We are committed to the citizens in a spirit of partnership and responsibility. FROM COAL TO THE FUTURE
Lusatia comprises six districts and the independent city of Cottbus in Saxony and Brandenburg. It combines economy, science, cultural landscape and quality of life in a unique way. With the exit from lignite mining and power generation, it loses a core of its industrial identity. For the district of Görlitz, this results in opportunities for future-oriented development in all areas of social life. Sustainable value creation, innovative mobility and the development of a CO2-neutral economic area in the "Lausitzer Revier" are core issues that the district of Görlitz will actively help to shape.
OPENING OF THE 1ST KAHLBAUM DAYS GÖRLITZGORZELEC
Invitation to the opening of the 1st Bald Tree Days GörlitZgorzelec on April 10, 2024, 10 a.m., in the auditorium of the DPFA Europrymus, ul. Bohaterów 2 Armii Wojska Polskiego 16, 59-900 Zgorzelez
From April 10th to 17th, 2024, the opening of the first Kahlbaum Days GörlitZgorzelec will take place in the auditorium of the DPFA Europrymus Zgorzelec.
The PRO Kahlbaum initiative, the ENO and the Polish educational institution DPFA Europrymus would like to offer Polish and German citizens and young people the opportunity to find out about the PRO Kahlbaum initiative, about “The life and work of Dr. Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum” and to inform about the German Center for Astrophysics that is being built in Görlitz.
After the welcome and opening of the Kahlbaum Days by the managing director of the DPFA Europrymus, Katarzyna Hübner and Sven Mimus, managing director of the ENO, the team coordinator of the PRO Kahlbaum initiative, Peter Marakanow, will report on the “history of the origins of the PRO Kahlbaum initiative”.
From 10:45 a.m. the founding director of the German Center for Astrophysics in Görlitz (DZA), Professor Dr. Günther Hasinger, will give a lecture on “Latest results from space: on the way to the German Center for Astrophysics” in English for German and Polish high school students.
From 1:30 p.m., Jürgen Knospe, spokesman for the Senior Competence Team, will provide an insight into the history of psychiatry in Görlitz using “The Life and Work of Dr. Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum” in Görlitz. Afterwards it is possible to view a small exhibition.
On April 15th, 2:00 p.m., the Kahlbaum Days will be celebrated with a minute's silence to mark the 125th anniversary of Dr. Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum continued at the Kahlbaum family gravesite in the municipal cemetery. Andreas Jungnickel from the PRO Kahlbaum initiative will speak words of remembrance. The meeting point is 1:45 p.m. at the old celebration hall.
The conclusion is on April 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the KahlbaumInfoTag in the Dr. Kahlbaum Information and Meeting Center (KIB), at Querstrasse 10.

Those interested can also look forward to a guest article on “dementia prevention” by Hanna Wagner (ASB Dresden Kamenz). Two story-telling tours will follow in the footsteps of Dr. from 2:45 p.m. Hermann Andreas Reimer and Dr. Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum changed.
