Tourism development and marketing
Shaping destinations, strengthening tourism.
Stronger together in tourism
Tourism is a significant economic factor in the Görlitz district and a driving force for quality of life, added value, and regional identity. As the managing director of the Neißeland Tourist Association (TGG Neißeland), ENO plays a central role in strategic tourism development. Together with the TGG Zittau Mountains Nature Park, the Europastadt GörlitzZgorzelec GmbH (GörlitzZgorzelec European City Ltd.), and the Görlitz district, we are shaping the region's tourism future within the framework of this tourism cooperation.
Our goal is the continuous development of competitive offerings and the strengthening of local tourism providers. We support hosts, municipalities, and service providers through consulting, training, workshops, and targeted networking. With location analyses, we create a sound basis for investment decisions and product development.
At the same time, we represent the Görlitz district at travel fairs in Dresden, Leipzig, and Erfurt, presenting our offerings in the supra-regional competition among destinations. A particular focus is on cross-border cooperation with tourism networks and providers in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Through initiatives such as the star-shaped cycling tour, specialist workshops, and the Tourism Innovation Award, we, together with our cooperation partners, provide impetus, promote quality, and make tourism development visible and tangible. This is how tourism development with substance is created: strategically managed, implemented in partnership, and anchored regionally.

Marketing strategies
Destination marketing for the Neisse region aims to position it as an attractive travel destination. In close cooperation with local businesses and umbrella tourism organizations, the Neisse region is presented at national and international trade fairs. Targeted social media activities communicate tourism developments and promote holidays in the region. These measures are closely coordinated with the strategies of the Görlitz district tourism association, the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Marketing Company, and the Saxony Tourism Marketing Company to ensure coherent marketing.

Cycling analysis
In 2023, tourism experts at ENO conducted a cycling traffic analysis along the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path in the Görlitz district. This involved surveys at various locations along the route. The results were published in spring 2024. The analysis is intended to support tourism providers in their investment decisions along the cycle path. The goal is to restore the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path to its position among the top 10 cycle routes in Germany.

Further development of tourist regions
The tourism strategy for the Görlitz district is being adapted to new circumstances and the strategies of Saxony and Upper Lusatia. Instead of targeted measures, it focuses on overarching themes such as health, sustainability, and skilled workers. The strategy serves as a guideline for tourism professionals and is being developed in cooperation with dwif-Consulting GmbH and local stakeholders through workshops and a steering committee. The aim is to consider local needs and experiences and to ensure a future-oriented direction for tourism in the district.
"Direct contact with tourism professionals is important to us in order to always be informed about the conditions and requirements at the grassroots level. Our work thrives on many discussions, exciting ideas and strong cooperation with our partners."
