190 years of tradition – and we're right in the middle of it

The 190th anniversary of Görlitzer Hanf- und Drahtseilerei GmbH & Co. KG was a very special occasion for us as the Marketing and IT team of ENO.

We have enjoyed a close collaboration with this long-established company for many years – all the more reason for us to be pleased to be able to cover this anniversary in the media.

The history of the rope factory dates back to 1836 and stands for craftsmanship, innovation, and regional ties. It was precisely this combination of tradition and future that needed to be made visible in the company's communication.

From idea to premiere

Together we developed a comprehensive communications package: an anniversary logo, invitation cards, and thank-you cards – designed by Katarzyna “Kasia” Krzyżanowska and subsequently produced. In addition, we created a press release to disseminate the anniversary message.

The centerpiece of our project, however, was the corporate video. Christian Fietze faced the challenge of telling the story of 190 years of company history and its current capabilities in an engaging way, all within approximately six minutes. Since only a small amount of historical material was available, he decided to visualize the past using animated graphics – inspired by the few existing photographs.

The filming was as intense as it was unique: For the atmospheric opening scene, Christian, together with Ariane Archner and Ingo Goschütz, built a film set in an ice-cold warehouse at temperatures around freezing. Using a fog machine, lighting equipment, and several cameras, we staged an impressive scene with rope master Toni, depicting the cutting of a wire rope. A second day of filming took us to the production hall, where we captured modern work processes.

A film that connects – and looks to the future

After many hours in post-production , a film was created that impressively connects past and present. It premiered on March 10th at the grand anniversary event – and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Particularly gratifying: Among the guests present was a partner company that is now also interested in its own film project and would like to realize it with us.

For us, this project is more than just a single assignment. It represents a long-standing partnership: from regular photo shoots for recruiting young talent, to involvement in formats like INSIDERTREFF and INSIDERATLAS, to previous anniversary films that we were privileged to support.

And the collaboration continues: In this anniversary year, we are jointly developing a new website. Kasia, Ingo, and Holger are already working on the initial concepts.

We are delighted to be part of this success story – and who knows: perhaps we will see each other again behind the camera for the 200th anniversary.
