Over 300 conversations in just a few hours

Last week in the district of Görlitz, everything revolved around the professional future of young people:

At the 2026 Apprentice Speed ​​Dating event, students and numerous companies came together to get to know each other quickly and make initial contacts for a potential apprenticeship. Intensive matchmaking took place over two days at three locations: Weißwasser, Zittau, and Görlitz. While the events in Weißwasser and Zittau took place on Tuesday, Thursday in Görlitz marked the conclusion of this year's speed dating program. All young people still looking for a suitable apprenticeship for 2026 had the opportunity to introduce themselves directly to regional companies. 

The speed-dating concept once again proved effective: In 15-minute conversations, the students were able not only to make a first impression, but also to ask specific questions, gain insights into various career fields, and directly hand over their application portfolios. This resulted in numerous valuable contacts being made in a very short time. 

Interest was high on both sides. At the Görlitz and Zittau locations, 22 companies presented themselves between 2 pm and 5 pm, while 11 companies were represented in Weißwasser. In total, over 300 conversations took place over the two days. Students were typically able to introduce themselves to up to three companies in a single day.
