Launch of our major German-Polish project “Starting a Business Without Borders”
The German-Polish INTERREG project "Grenzenlos Gründen / Przedsiębiorczość bez granic" (Starting a Business Without Borders) will create a cross-border educational program for young people from Saxony and Poland from July 2026 to December 2028. The project is aimed at students in grades 8 and 9 from the Görlitz district, as well as students in grades 7 to 9 at Polish primary schools, technical schools, and high schools within the funding area. The goal is to promote entrepreneurial thinking, highlight career prospects, and strengthen understanding of German-Polish cooperation in the border region.
At the start of the project, we will develop a joint strategy with our project partners for a cross-border training program to promote entrepreneurship among young people. This will form the basis for a practical educational offering that strengthens economic, social, and intercultural skills equally.
At the heart of the project are 14 five-day educational trips, taking place in Germany and Poland starting in 2027. During each trip, a German and a Polish school class will work together in international teams, getting to know companies in the border region, exchanging ideas with entrepreneurs, and developing their own business ideas, culminating in a mini-business plan. In this way, the project combines economic education with practical experience and exchange across the German-Polish border.
The project is being implemented by the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia Development Corporation (ENO) as lead partner, together with the Saxony branch of the German Society (Bildungswerk Sachsen der Deutschen Gesellschaft eV) and Semper Avanti. At ENO, the project is being managed by a team consisting of project leader Marie Runge and project manager Jenny Poppitz. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the amount of €982,247.03 as part of the Interreg Poland–Saxony 2021–2027 cooperation program.
