Launch of the INTERREG project “Out of love for the region – Z lásky k regionu”

At the beginning of 2026, the time had come: With “Out of love for the region – Z lásky k regionu”, we as the development company Niederschlesische Oberlausitz mbH (ENO) are bringing new momentum to cross-border cooperation between Saxony and the Czech Republic.

Through this major INTERREG project, we aim to strengthen Upper Lusatia and its neighboring regions – economically, culturally, and socially. In a time of profound structural change, we see this project as a catalyst for a sustainable, interconnected economy. Together with our Czech partners, the Jablonec nad Nisou Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OHC) and the Děčín Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OHC), we are creating a robust network of regional producers and entrepreneurs – from Germany, the Czech Republic, and, in the long term, Poland as well.

Cross-border cooperation

From January 2026 to December 2028, this project will combine a wide range of activities to better connect companies in the border region and open up new opportunities. These include:

  • A market study on the Saxon-Czech economic situation
  • A business handbook with practical recommendations for action
  • Expert panels, networking events and business tandems
  • as well as targeted public relations work that highlights successful examples.

In this way, we promote knowledge transfer, innovation and intercultural competence – as a strong foundation for long-term business partnerships and sustainable development.

A look into the future – Poland in focus

While the current phase prioritizes the Saxon-Czech border region, we are already thinking ahead: After the project's completion, the Polish side of the border region will be specifically included. This expansion will create new market access and strengthen the entire tri-border region – from Upper Lusatia to the Giant Mountains. We cordially invite companies and interested parties from the border region to become part of this strong network and to shape the economic future of our region together.

The project is funded by the INTERREG Saxony-Czech Republic funding program in the amount of €549,309.47 and is being carried out jointly by the development company Niederschlesische Oberlausitz mbH, the OHK Jablonec nad Nisou and the OHK Děčín.
